Cylinder

A cylinder is a three-dimensional solid shape that has:

1. Two identical circular bases that are parallel to each other
2. One curved lateral surface connecting the two bases
3. 3 faces in total (2 flat circular faces + 1 curved surface)
4. 0 vertices (corner points)
5. 2 edges (the circular boundaries of the two bases — both are curved edges)

It is called a cylinder because it has the same circular cross-sectionalong its entire height—any slice parallel to the bases will produce a circle congruent to the base.
